Hello!
My name is Lisa Gilbert

Since a young age, I have intrinsically enjoyed helping others and have had a concern and interest in the well-being of those around me. It made sense to go into the helping profession.

I am a native of Arizona, but I do love frequent trips to California beaches! I enjoy Pilates, hiking, supporting my three (almost all adult) kids in their endeavors, and being active in my Christian faith community.  I also love my work and listening to podcasts and books with a lifelong desire to learn.

It would be my honor to help you work through losses, past hurts, disappointments, relationship issues, and ongoing mental health struggles.

Clinical Experience

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University in 2006 and my Master's in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach in 2014. Medical social work was where I began, working in various health care settings to support both patients and their caregivers through significantly difficult times in their lives. I obtained my license to practice as a licensed clinical social worker in 2017 and began specializing in treating individuals who were stuck and in need of professional guidance.  I started my private practice, White Feather Therapy, in January of 2021.

My Approaches

EMDR

The nervous system is wired towards healing and wants to heal, just as the physical body does.  EMDR helps bring healing from trauma or other distressing life experiences.

IFS

A gentle and insightful therapy that helps individuals see how their experiences and hurts create a system of protective and wounded parts.  These parts can unburden and allow the core Self to flourish.

DBT

Provides practical strategies for regulating emotions, tolerating distress, being mindful, and having healthy interpersonal relationships.
